My Honest Optoma UHZ50 Projector Review

This projector is ideal for gaming and watching videos in 4k on a large screen. I built it using a 120 “screen mounted on a floor stand. The fact that this utilizes laser technology means that there is no bulb to replace. The lasers in this are designed to endure a long time.

You may be wondering whether putting up a projector like this is as difficult as setting up a television. It may be, but it doesn’t have to be. If you don’t have any dogs or children, you may put this on a coffee table. For a 120″ diagonal, it should be approximately 3” below the bottom border of the screen and roughly 11′ away from it (there are physical adjustment dials for each of these to give you some wiggle room). I was concerned about how to install it to the ceiling since I have children and cats. I eventually concluded that the best thing to do was to spend a few dollars at the hardware store and build a wall shelf at the appropriate height on the opposite wall. That is considerably cheaper and simpler since the shelf brackets can be readily matched to studs and your wires can just dangle against the wall. Furthermore, you are using the whole length of the area to accommodate the biggest picture possible!

Now, as for the projection picture, it’s fantastic! I connected a pair of HDMI cables from my PC and console to the input that supports game mode through an HDMI switch. The latency from Optoma UHZ50 projector is really minimal once the game mode is enabled. On switch, I was able to play a drum game that required precise timing. When projected, gamey, vivid hues, such as Dragon Quest XI, seem extremely lively.

A 120-minute film is quite amazing “The screen was filled with a high-quality picture. Overall, it seems to be fairly nice. There are several parameters to alter, as well as multiple preset modes, including cinema and gaming. Notably, the frame interpolation and reduced latency features each function on a single HDMI input connection and are therefore distinct.

In gloomy settings, there is considerable detail loss with a projector in this price range. This might be an issue during the day if the room isn’t dark enough. I opted to replace my blinds with blackout curtains.

The projector does have its own speakers, but will you want to utilize them? Most likely not. In addition, the projector comes with a USB wifi dongle and an ethernet wire for connecting. For firmware upgrades, you should perform one or the other.

The applications, I believe, are the greatest shortcoming of Optoma UHZ50 projector. There aren’t many of them. You can’t always do everything with the remote. For example, in the prime video app, I couldn’t choose ‘don’t need otp on this browser,’ which meant I’d have to input password and otp every time. If you aren’t going to feed pc or console input into this, I believe a dedicated streaming box or stick that performs applications and remote controls better is required. This also helps with receiving 4k streams since many providers, such as Prime, will not send you 4k over your computer.

Overall, I am really pleased with my first projector purchase. This is by far the most cost-effective approach to get such a large 4k picture.
