My Honest Review on ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A Monitor
Set it to my gaming PC using DP, and HDMI to my work PC. The panel bezel is slim and suits nicely next to my alienware aw2710hf 240hz display. This display is bright, and I had to keep it down to 60-70 percent for everyday use. While I hope there was a feature that had more access to all options, I was still able to have the color settings that fit my other display. The stand is big, but only half as deep as my other monitor, which is a positive thing, I might still position it on a long-term monitor arm.
The IPS glow was natural, it wasn’t more than I planned, it doesn’t bother me. It’s a lot different than my old u2715h Ips screen. You can see the back light bleed/ips glow in the dark with a black backdrop, but I didn’t notice it under regular usage, particularly in normal lighting circumstances.
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A monitor is perfect for jobs, for excel and real-time info. Good resolution, simple text. I’d say the display is on par with the feedback I’ve seen for the gigabyte aorus fi27q and pixio px7. Websurfing presets are all right, racing and srgb are the best. I had to change certain parameters to correct photo job colors in photoshop, all of the presets were a little warm and light, but they were correctable and not completely out of the norm. The settings for movies had to be tweaked to a modified variant of the scenery or theater preset. Will potentially make up a better match with a spyder.
