The all-new WiMiUS S2 Wifi Projector is one of our most powerful, high-performing, brilliant, and portable projectors to date. The S2 is a wifi projector with built-in 5W Hifi speakers that are 2X louder than other market projectors, a genuine 4.3″ screen that enables 300 inch big projection screen size, and a projection distance that is 1.5-2 times greater than other small projectors.

The WiMiUS S2 mini wifi projector has a 4.3″ LCD screen (the others only have “4”), which is brighter and more reliable. When connected to an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or laptop, the S2 projector can display native 1920x1080P movies. It implies that while “screen mirroring,” you may change the resolution to native 1080P HD. Wifi Screen Mirroring is a wireless technology that allows you to mirror your computer’s screen.

It’s simple to link your iPhone, Android phone, Android tablet, or iPad: 1. From the projector’s default menu, choose “Settings,” then link your family’s “Wifi network.” 2. On the projector’s default menu, choose “iOS Cat” or “Mira Cast.” 3. Locate the “Screen Mirroring” key on your phone or tablet, then tap it to connect to the projector’s wifi – “WiMiUS S2-xxx.”

How can I stream Prime Video, Hulu, or Netflix straight from the app?

1. I’m sorry that the screen mirroring feature does not allow playing the Netflix app, Prime Video, or HULU directly on iPhone or Android phones due to HDCP copyright. (Only the most costly DLP projectors or professional 4K projectors with HDCP support!)

2. When connected to a laptop, a Macbook, or an Amazon Fire TV Stick, you can watch Netflix or Prime Video immediately!

Vankyo 470 vs. WiMiUS S2 vs. WiMiUS S25

# Physical Appearance #

S2 is somewhat larger than 470, and 470 and S25 are about the same size. I would characterize S25 as adorable, and S2 as more mature.

The WiMiUS S2, with its metallic grey buttons on top and sleek chassis, appears more expensive than the 470, which only has two rows of tiny push buttons on top.The S2 focus and keystone adjustments are smoother and easier to turn than the S25. All three projectors seem to be well-made, although I like the S2.

The tripod attachment on the S25 is extremely helpful, since many people own a tripod. Both the 470 and S2 lack a tripod mount.

I was taken aback by the picture quality and size of the S2 as soon as I switched it on. The WiMiUS S2 is very bright, and the projected focus distance is excellent at 13ft (the maximum breadth of my room), with the potential to concentrate even farther. As a result, this is a significant improvement over the S25, which can only focus on 10ft. The throw ratio of S2 is greater than that of S25 and 470 (the throw ratio of 470 is the same as that of S25), implying that S2 projects a considerably larger image at the same distance.

In fact, the S2 picture is so large at 10ft that the top of it touches the ceiling of my flat. I had to relocate the WiMiUS S2 to 7ft in order to get the same picture size as the S25/470 at 9.5ft, indicating that the S2 is close to a short-throw projector. Using a white test picture with my LG G7 phone’s “Light Meter” app, and adjusting to the same image size, the S2 scored 112 lux (7ft) vs. 470 at 90lux (9.5ft), a significant increase in brightness.

Also, when I connected the S2 to my computer through HDMI, it showed to the computer as a 1080p monitor, while the S25 and 470 both appeared to the computer as 720p screens. When I attach a projector to my PC, I utilize Windows’ “duplicate display” feature. This implies that I can replicate my computer’s display on the S2 at the native 1080p resolution, and my computer’s display will continue to appear normal. When I replicate the display on these projectors using S25/470, my computer screen also becomes 720p.

All three projectors only produce 720p video.

# Fan noise # The fan noise on WiMiUS S2 projector is somewhat lower at 33.7 dB than on S25 at 35.8dB, but 470 is still quieter at 27.6dB.

Fan noise may be caused by the fan design or the fan bearings. I attempted to open the S2 to see if I could grease the bearings to decrease the noise, but even after removing the four screws on the bottom, the case would not open. There may be screws buried under the rubber feet, but I didn’t bother looking any more.

# Music #

S2’s speaker is much louder than S25’s. The S2 sound is excellent, with very little distortion when the music or conversation is loud. This is a significant improvement over the S25. Both projectors are equally noisy when compared to the 470.

The 470’s speaker, on the other hand, is located at the rear of the projector, and the down firing position provides a little more bass. Because most people will sit directly behind the projector, the S2 sound coming from the left side is a little annoying at first.I’d like to see the speaker open all the way to the rear.

The WiMiUS S2 is considerably louder than the S25, although it lacks the Bluetooth function (the 470 has no Bluetooth either). This is disappointing since I rely heavily on this function, and I believe Bluetooth is more helpful than wireless projection. With S25, I can position my Bluetooth speakers just underneath the screen, so the music comes from the same location as the movie, which improves the experience significantly. The Bluetooth feature on the phone or laptop linked to the projector is another option.

# Wireless Display #

Similarly to the S25, the S2’s wireless projection immediately connected to both my LG G7 and the Windows PC. However, when playing movies, I couldn’t maintain a steady connection; the sound and motion would sometimes get stuck, yet the phone or PC continued to play while the projector was stuck. I experienced connectivity issues with all three projectors, so I’m not sure whether it’s a problem with the projectors, my WIFI, or my phone. I finally settled on an HDMI cable.

While I didn’t have much success with any projector in terms of maintaining a consistent connection, I loved WiMiUS’ approach (both S2 and S25). WiMiUS projectors link to the house’s WIFI, while Vankyo’s projector has its own WIFI to which a phone may connect.

# Other things # It’s interesting that the S25 and 470 remote controllers appear identical; even removing the battery cover from the side is identical. I disliked the unusual battery cover, which was difficult to open. Better still, the WiMiUS S2 features a standard battery cover.

The projected picture was slanted by approximately 2 degrees, which meant that the right side was somewhat higher than the left. I placed two pennies beneath the projector to raise the left side, which solved the problem.

The sleep timer on the S2 and S25 is helpful, but not on the 470.

# Executive Summary #

Overall, I absolutely like WiMiUS S2. As a 720P projector, it is almost ideal.

S2 outperforms S25 in terms of brightness, sound volume, picture size limit (how large an image can be projected), adjustable focus distance, and appearance.
