Vizio V51x-J6 Soundbar System Review

Low-Profile Design and Brilliant Clarity with 6 Full-range Speakers
Powerful 5″ Wireless Subwoofer and Bluetooth Music Streaming
Complete Immersion with Discreet Volume Adjustable Surround Speakers

SKU: VIZ-V51-J6X Category: Television and Video

The Vizio V51x-J6 is a low-cost 5.1 soundbar that is the successor of the Vizio V Series V51-H6. It has an AUX In port for voice assistant-enabled devices, so you can plug them in to get voice assistant functionality. Its balanced, neutral sound quality makes it ideal for listening to a wide range of audio material, and it even has discrete surround speakers.

The Vizio V51x-J6 5.1 Soundbar is well-constructed. The bar and satellites are largely made of matte-textured plastic that feels strong and long-lasting. Melamine is used for the subwoofer. However, the cloth covering the front and sides of the bar and satellites seems to be easily rippable or filthy.

My Honest Vizio V51x-J6 Soundbar Review

I had been following the previous Vizio Atmos soundbars. They are rather costly at $900 and $500, although they are still much less expensive than top-tier LG and Sonos models. I’d sometimes see the smaller version on sale for $300. Then I saw a fantastic review for this product. What’s more, the restored unit priced just $175. I ordered it, and lo and behold, it’s excellent.

Pros:

Very simple to put up.

The sound is really clear and strong, with a surprisingly nice tiny subwoofer. I have an 8-inch B&W, a 10-inch ELAC, and a 10-inch SVS, so I’m accustomed to hearing deep bass.

Vizio V51x-J6 soundbar is also thinner than any other Vizio I possess and just slightly higher than the Yamaha soundbar it replaced.

A smart speaker may be linked to a separate line or Bluetooth connection, which is a wonderful function. When the smart speaker wants to “talk,” the soundbard will lower the primary source volume and then restore it. It was effective.

It does support the Atmos bitstream.

The setting is usual. Vizio is excellent.

Backlighting is used on a portion of the remote.

My TCL TV supports ARC.

Excellent features and value for money.

Drawbacks: (These are all minor)

Even at close range, there’s very little “air” and image at the front for a soundbar with such superb speech clarity. Although Surround and Virtual Surround assist, there is still a loss of concentration.

Although Atmos sounds distinct, I couldn’t perceive any height. My primary system (Yamaha, Monitor Audio, Definitive, SVS) is laser-focused, and Atmos is clearly audible.

The remote of Vizio V51x-J6 is a bit difficult to use. Not bad, but not anything you’d notice in the dark to make a fast correction.

There is no ethernet or wifi streaming.

The standard Vizio LED status display.

Overall, Vizio offers decent soundbars, particularly given the abundance of refurbished models on the market. None of the five I’ve bought have ever failed, and Vizios are barely short of audiophile quality. The majority of soundbars are FAR inferior than a normal Vizio. I strongly recommend Vizio V51x-J6 Soundbar.
