VIZIO V21-H8R Review: V-Series 2.1 Channel Soundbar System

The Vizio V Series 2.1 Sound Bar has a 2.1 configuration with a dedicated subwoofer. It boasts a boomy sound profile that is ideal for listening to bass-heavy music and watching action-packed television programmes. There are also HDMI ARC and AUX ports for connecting to voice assistant speakers. This bar can become rather loud, however there is some distortion at maximum level.

My Honest VIZIO V21-H8R V-Series 2.1 Channel Soundbar System Review

Because TV speakers are so bad nowadays, I wanted a basic setup for our bedroom. I performed some research and discovered that the TCL Alto 6+ was praised as an excellent cheap alternative, so I bought one for $100 locally. Unfortunately, it sounded terrible. Voices sounded like they were coming from inside a container, and the subwoofer produced so little power that it was essentially useless. I adore my Vizio soundbar in my living room, but it was 7 years old and I was concerned that the quality had deteriorated. I should have simply gone with another Vizio in the first place and heeded my instincts. This refurb came looking fresh new, setup was a breeze, and it sounded fantastic for the price. It’s ideal for a bedroom setup that doesn’t need surround sound. And the output was so strong that I had to turn the subwoofer DOWN. My girls were waking up when I turned it up:-) The difference is night and day for just $30 more than the TCL. VIZIO V21-H8R also has a lot more settings available if you want to fine-tune the sound, while the TCL had very few tuning options. I would suggest this soundbar at full price, but the refurb price is much better!
