My Honest SideTrak Swivel Review
I selected this device because it could be attached from either side and I could have two without having to pay extra for a double install. It works well-I can fit anything into a backpack for travel and work.
A couple of observations: attach the mounting plate with a very slight inclination, and the display would be straight (else the gaps in the hinges could cause it to be a little unlevel). Also, the directions for connecting are incorrect (perhaps for a certain unit?). As a result, I had to connect all the brackets to one hand. I had to yank them off and reattach them with down gorilla double sided tape. All is back to normal now.
SideTrak Swivel Portable Monitor also has a cool function on the left side (when the monitor is upside down) to auto correct and view the image right side up. However, there is a small flaw in that when the machine goes to sleep and then wakes up, the monitor fails to appear. What you have to do is unplug and re-plug. Furthermore, if you turn the laptop too far back, the magnet will become weak and the computer will detach. It’s a bit distracting, so don’t tip back too much. Overall, it was just what I expected. These are the only problems, because they are quickly resolved.
