My Honest Sceptre C355W-3440UN Review
After viewing hundreds of films studying panel kinds, panel manufacturers, and brands offered both locally and internationally, I decided to dip my toes into the ultrawide realm. I chose the Sceptre 35″ 1440p 100hz Ultrawide 21:9. This is a VA Panel with a 4ms GTG reaction time, 100hz DP and HDMI ports, and two extra 75hz HDMI connectors.
My system won’t be able to run current AAA games at that speed right now, so 100hz seems fine for now. I can convert this into a sick secondary display or a second rig for a his/hers setup, but my ultimate aim is to get a 49″ monitor that is “super-wide.”
My ultimate aim is a 49″ however, 144hz 1ms GTG ultrawides are still $1500+. The low price of this panel ($379) plus the fact that it is sourced from ASUS, drew my attention away from the sea of Asus, Acer, AOC, and Viotek monitors that were $100-$150 more expensive. I discovered one that was being delivered and sold through Amazon for a simple return if I didn’t like it.
So far, everything on this panel seems fantastic. There is no lightbleed from the edges, no ghosting, and no screen tearing. AND G-Sync works flawlessly! I’m in love with Sceptre C355W-3440UN screen; it’s a big improvement over my 24″ monitor “Viewsonic 1080P 60Hz monitor. Doom 2016 looks great at 170fps on this. COD and Fallout 76 both operate at 100FPS.
If you’re searching for an ultrawide that your setup can run but don’t want to give up your firstborn child, look no further. This is the monitor to get. This purchase has exceeded my expectations. I highly suggest it!
