SKU: LG-32GP850-B Category: Monitors

The LG 32GP850-B, which is part of LG’s UltraGear gaming display range, is an outstanding gaming monitor. The rapid refresh rate provides an excellent response time, especially while gaming on consoles at 60Hz, and it has very minimal input latency. It offers AMD’s FreeSync variable refresh rate technology (VRR) natively, but it’s also NVIDIA-certified to operate with G-SYNC on current NVIDIA graphics cards. When not gaming, the broad viewing angles, high peak brightness, and excellent reflection management make it an excellent option for office work or entertainment in a brighter environment. Its wide color range and excellent gradient management make it an excellent option for media production as well. Unfortunately, the IPS panel isn’t ideal for usage in dim lighting, and some users may find the pixel density to be too low for office work.

LG 32GP850-B is a 32″ UltraGear Full HD (1920×1080) IPS Display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. With IPS and Full HD quality, there is beauty in every fight. With vivid, responsive IPS, you can reimagine any scenario. LG’s UltraGearTM Full HD IPS Display, with a 32″ screen ratio and a 16:9 aspect ratio, offers realistic, accurate color, improved contrast, clarity, and detail, as well as ultra-fast reaction speeds. As it occurs, you may see a clear route to success.

My Honest LG 32GP850-B Monitor Review

I just got this monitor and I’m really blown away by the image quality and feature set. I was previously using a cheap TN 1080p 144hz monitor, and the difference in experience is like night and day.

The increased pixel density improves gaming immersion/detail, and the additional screen real estate provides plenty of space for productive activities. This monitor is rated at 165hz out of the box, but it can be overclocked to 180hz using the “overclock” function. The color spectrum is fantastic (complete sRGB compatibility), and this monitor could be utilized for video/photography editing if you wanted to. The viewing angles are excellent, as they should be for an IPS screen. The latency is also extremely low, which is beneficial for competitive FPS games. The rear USB passthrough is a great addition, and I’ve utilized both ports for my mouse and keyboard.

My only criticism is that the stand’s adjustability is a little lacking. This is a reference to the inability to lower the panel that low. However, you could always mount it on a VESA-supported monitor arm, but that would require an extra financial expenditure. Also, the contrast in LG 32GP850-B is a touch low, with blacks seeming washed out. This isn’t unpleasant, but it is apparent when watching material in a dark environment or turning the brightness up very high. You may reduce this a little by adjusting the picture/color settings.

The LG 32GP850-B monitor’s MSRP of $499.99 before sales tax is not cheap, but the rabbit hole may go wild depending on additional features, size, and possibly higher resolutions like 4k-8k if you have the GPU horse-power. However, I believe that this specific paradigm is worthwhile. I can see this holding up well over time, particularly if I decide to update my system in the future to get even more out of this display. Overall, 180hz is plenty for me, and the image quality of LG’s nano-IPS technology, along with the incredible color spectrum, is difficult to match at this price. LG has really moved up, and this panel has very few sacrifices in terms of performance as a complete ‘package’ in this price range.
