My Honest LG 27GQ50F-B Monitor Review

I must tell that I adore this monitor. I updated my display after purchasing a new graphics card for my computer and was able to get 144+ fps. It was reasonably priced at $180 when I purchased it, and it has yet to disappoint. Although I often use the FPS or vivid settings on it, the customization is excellent. I prefer the reading mode setting because it allows your eyes to rest after playing hours of games with the brightness set to maximum. That takes me to my second significant point: the monitor’s brightness is outstanding. I never liked playing video games with low brightness since it made my eyes strain when I looked in especially gloomy spots. This monitor does not have this problem. I can play Call of Duty: Cold War at 30 brightness and my display is still bright enough for me at 80-100 brightness. It performs its job, and the shift from 75hz to 144hz is really night and day. You’ll never go back below 144hz once you’ve achieved it. This is coming from a 20-year console gamer. The only complaint I have is that it is not height adjustable, but I was aware of this before purchasing it. The desk I purchased was ideal since it comes with a little stand that elevates the height to eye level with me (As you can see in the pictures below). Was a fantastic fit for me since I am also rather tall (6’6″) “). Overall, I really like this monitor and would suggest it to anybody on a tight budget looking for a 144hz monitor around $200.

I should note that I purchased the LG 24GL650-B Height adjustable monitor two days earlier since it was on sale for $170, and I was disappointed because it was much darker than the LG 27GQ50F-B. Take it into account if you’re leaning for the height-adjustable option!
