Windows 11 in S mode is intended for security and speed, solely running programs from the Microsoft Store. If you wish to install a program that isn’t accessible in the Microsoft Store, you’ll need to switch out of S mode.
Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you make the transition, you won’t be able to go back to Windows 10 or Windows 11 in S mode. There’s no price to switch out of S mode.
On your Lenovo IdeaPad 3i Laptop running Windows 11 in S mode, visit Settings > System > Activation.
In the Switch to Windows 11 Pro section, click Go to the Store. (If you also see a “Upgrade your version of Windows” section, be cautious not to click the “Go to the Store” link that appears there.)
On the Switch out of S mode (or equivalent) screen that displays in the Microsoft Store, pick the Get button. After you get a confirmation mail on the website, you’ll be able to install programs from outside of the Microsoft Store.

My Honest Lenovo IdeaPad 3i Laptop Review
I am delighted I made this purchase. The pc is really quick, it’s lightweight. The touch screen function is excellent. The memory and storage capacity is good. The download speed as well as how fast apps start up makes life so simple, plus it’s an appealing laptop. This upgraded my monster desktop that was acquired almost 10 years ago. That is incredibly sluggish now. Takes about an hour to launch anything.
