My Honest Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 Review
I’ve had it for a couple of days now and am happy to share my thoughts. This was provided to me because I use 3D home design applications, which can be really demanding on the CPU and memory. It’s not so much about the GPU as it is about the CPU. But it’s more than enough for what I wanted. As I run a 3D render, the CPU runs at 100% during the first few minutes and then drops back down. As I’m rendering, the GPU usually has just a few tasks, like 3-4 percent, and memory is at around 31 percent. It will take an hour to get 20-30 Ray Trace passes on my old PC, which had an 8GB RAM, a 2.2 cpu, and a Radeon R5 graphics card. Using the same strategy, it took 3 minutes, 50 seconds, and it had already completed 18 passes.
If you want to play games on it, go to YouTube and check out Ryzen 54500u. There are a lot of videos of people testing it against other chips in a variety of games. This chip is commonly used in notebook computers. I was all in after seeing them.
The screen on Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 F0EW005SUS is fantastic, particularly the edge-to-edge aspect ratio. I don’t mind the stand, and I won’t claim I dislike it, but it makes me think they didn’t think it through—like, oh, let’s just bend that pipe… but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. And it’s common with some people. So, no huge deal. It’s in a dark corner, on a black bench, on a black riser that I designed to slip my keyboard under, so I won’t miss it in the future.
The installation was easy, but I had it backed up and ready to go. If you are changing a Lenovo, you can use their assistant to wirelessly migrate settings/folders/files to the new one, but I prefer to restore to an external hard drive and do it myself. It took me about 4 hours to bring it back up and running as it was on the old PC. I’m also happy it came with an optical drive because I had totally forgotten that some of my programs needed a CD. It would have been a big error not to purchase a computer with a CD player.
The hard disk on Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 desktop is quite fast. Particularly at the start-up stage. I have around 180 GB of files that needed to be switched over, so the 512 GB SSD is a little tiny for me, but I have purchased the WD 2 TB hard drive, which fits well with this PC and can hold information. Amazon has it for $65 right now. The SSD would suffice for the vast majority of citizens for several years.
It comes with Lenovo bloatware, which I uninstalled right away. Other than that, it ships in a HUGE outer package, is well-packed, and ship signature needed, so I had it delivered to my workplace. Consider that you would have to sign up for it ahead of time.
Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 3 F0EW005SUS desktop is fantastic. Excellent value for money, and a high-quality machine. If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I will reply.
