GIGABYTE M27Q Monitor

Gigabyte continues to broaden its lineup, with quite a number of its products now focused on the high refresh rate of 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) experience. The Gigabyte M27Q Monitor is the fourth high refresh rate WQHD IPS offering. As with other non-AORUS displays of the company, the monitor provides a simplistic look with a lot of matt black plastic and dark gray plastic and a low-profile base shape.

The top and side bezels of Gigabyte M27Q monitor feature a thin panel border that blends with the rest of the screen plus a hard plastic outer part – a dual-stage style, in other words. The OSD (On Screen Display) is operated by a joystick at the rear of the panel, to the bottom right as seen from the front. If chosen, the ‘OSD Sidekick’ program can be used to power the computer.

The Gigabyte M27Q monitor uses a flicker-free WLED backlight with 92 percent DCI-P3 (140 per cent sRGB) color range for extra vibrancy and saturation plus a typical 350 cd / m2 maximum luminance. This boosts up to 400 cd / m2 + for HDR applications, with the monitor providing simple HDR10 processing through VESA DisplayHDR 400. This requires 10-bit color processing to be used with the aid of GPU dimming and enables the gamma color to be used well, but does not involve contrast-enhancing local dimming or especially high luminance levels. Low Blue Light (LBL) settings are also used, while 0.5ms of MPRT reaction time is specified using the ‘Aim Stabilizer’ strobe backlight feature.
