My Honest Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GAMING OC Graphics Card Review

I was cautious about purchasing an RTX card online rather than at Best Buy or Microcenter, particularly because everything is marked up two to three times the MSRP, and also since so many of the vendors seem to have at least one horror tale review. But I really wanted to replace my 6800xt with an Nvidia 3080 or better (for a variety of reasons), and with cards so scarce, I decided to take a chance and go with this vendor.

He had one of the cards I was looking for for roughly $300 more than what Best Buy or Microcenter had advertised, which was on the low end when compared to most others. He also received only positive feedback. Another need was that the vendor be situated in the United States, ideally on the west coast, and this merchant met that requirement.

I purchased the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card late on a Thursday (about 5 p.m.) and got notification that it had been mailed the following day. There’s an encouraging indication there. I paid extra for two-day delivery and was assured the card would be delivered the following Tuesday (instead of the free shipping, which would have been a 3-7 business day option if I remember correctly). Because the order came in so late in the day, it seemed reasonable to me. The card arrived on Monday, but I wasn’t home to sign for it, so the post office kept it until I could come pick it up the following day (and yes, I was probably drooling).

It seemed to have had the bare minimum of packaging within the shipment box (a couple of little air packs), but the product box appeared to be in good condition, thus it appeared to have survived transit unharmed. When I observed it didn’t have a manufacturer label closing either box end, I became concerned that I had received a used Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics card (when I was certain the ad was for a new one).

When I opened the package, I felt a little better since the manufacturing seal was still on the static-protective bag that held the card. I verified after removing the bag, and the serial number on the card matched the one on the box. Everything else (product inserts, program information, etc.) seemed to be complete and in fresh condition on the inside. Thus far, so good…

After swapping out my AMD card, the new 3080 Ti started up immediately and I was able to download the Nvidia drivers and software with ease. And, as of today (about a week later), the card hasn’t shown any faults or troubles. So far, I’ve been extremely pleased with the performance, but I haven’t done any overclocking, simply stock.

I would highly suggest purchasing Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card from this vendor, particularly because his rates seemed to be as affordable (or more) than those of other sellers shipping from the US, he sent extremely quickly, and the card was just as described (the box seals notwithstanding).

Very pleased, and I would certainly buy from this vendor again
