My Honest Review of Flowtron FC-8800 Diplomat Fly Control Device
For 8 years now, I have used the Flowtron FC-8800. I operate it from June to August, not to stop. I place it outdoors in the off-season where temp drops to sub-zero in the winter regularly. It does a good job of destroying all manner of flies, mosquitoes, wasps and yellow jackets. If it rains, the water comes to the bottom of the bug zapper, producing a scent that draws them.
As I went to my lake side home for the first time, I couldn’t open a door at night because I’d basically have thousands of bugs in my home. I had spiders everywhere, too. I purchased a new residential bug zapper, and the bugs were so dense that the bug zappers would be shortened within a week. I don’t have a bad bug problem after using Flowtron FC-8800 Fly Control Device for 8 years. It also kills bugs who don’t stop at night, but the bugs aren’t that thick. Keep it running throughout the day or it’s going to eat the wasps, the bees, etc.
I’ve replaced two of the three light bulbs and one starter in the last 8 years. The bulbs cost about $33.00 and the starters cost about $3.00. Next time I change a lamp, I’m going to get a new starter, too, because they’re so cheap.
