My Honest Dragon Touch S1 Pro Review
This compact display is just the right size for me. When I’m operating, I like to have several displays so that I can easily look at reference content, code, and other things without having to reduce windows. When I operate from home, I would sit at a table or desk to set up an external display. This is how I’ve always done things, because I assumed it was the only way.
Not any more! When I operate from home, this display is a game changer. In the photos, you can see how I’m sitting in my recliner with my desktop and this computer, which is comfortably sponsored on my laptop board, and my TV in full view. I’ll have to focus on my efficiency now that I’m so happy and secure, but this is far superior to sitting at a computer.
The Dragon Touch S1 Pro actually works in my desktop bag, so I’ve been able to carry it to a client’s office and do side-by-side comparisons with the work I was performing for them without needing to wait for a computer to be borrowed. I simply removed it from my laptop case, inserted all the USB-C cables into my laptop, and amazed the customer. They figured it was a pretty cool gadget.
My two sons are now envious because they all wish they could have a smaller monitor like this to show their Discord conversations while playing sports. To see how fast this is, I played some Roblox games with no lag at all. I also included a video I shot while riding a rollercoaster in one of the games.
I looked at some 4k photos and watched a few videos, and they are quite straightforward. In one of my photos, you can see how sharp the text is as compared to a penny. On Dragon Touch S1 Pro display, the pixels are very small and distinct. This is my first 4k display, and I’m blown away by how pure and vivid it is. Since it’s compact, don’t think about it being dark. I hold it at 60% brightness because it is too bright for me at 100%.
I will use this display with two USB-C plugs on my desktop as well as a USB-C or HDMI link and the power adapter. The headphone jack functions normally, but it does not accept my headset mic. This isn’t a problem since I use my laptop’s headset anyway. I was just experimenting. The speakers are loud and clear, but plugging them into a phone works great for using a larger screen, watching videos, playing sports, or doing something else. The monitor’s colors are almost similar to those on my Samsung S20+. I tried my utmost to take a snapshot of what was on my tablet, but it culminated in a picture in a picture in a frame.
The menus on Dragon Touch S1 Pro monitor are easy to use and understand on your own. For this section, I didn’t even need to read the manual. Anything you need can be configured directly from the button and toggle on the left.
This investment has made me really satisfied. I didn’t know how much I’d enjoy it until I began using it and discovered it was much more convenient than I had expected. The only thing I’d add is to have a longer USB-C power cord. Fortunately, my laptop will power the Dragon Touch S1 Pro monitor by plugging all cables into built-in USB-C ports, as the provided cables find using the power adapter impossible in any situation I was in. However, I do not believe this detracts from the monitor’s worth, and it definitely deserves a five-star rating in my view.
