My Honest ASUS ZenScreen MB166C Monitor Review

This is an excellent, small, portable display. I’m an app developer, and it fits easily into my bag. I downloaded and installed the driver from the Asus website before plugging it into my MacBook. The screen, on the other hand, was exceedingly sluggish. It was a glitchy nightmare just moving the mouse around the screen. I reviewed all of the reviews and couldn’t locate anybody else who was having the same problem. I started to suspect it was my computer, although everything was in working order. I found the DisplayLink driver link after about an hour of Googling. To be clear, Asus manufactures the hardware, while DisplayLink serves as the driver. The one on the Asus website is either out of current or insufficient. I got the driver from the DisplayLink website and installed it. Amazon won’t allow me publish the link, but a fast google search for DisplayLink Mac driver will get you there!

The latency is completely gone! The display works well. ASUS ZenScreen MB166C monitor is fantastic. I’ll probably acquire another one shortly. I’m delighted I came upon this. I hope the driver advice is useful to someone else!
