My Honest ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582 Laptop Review

I was able to acquire the new ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582HS-XH99T with 3070 due to an extraordinary stroke of luck, as well as by checking every single day (NOT any form of free trial). They seem to have sold out very immediately after I purchased mine. According to what I can see, this is one of the earliest evaluations for the UX582, however for the time being, they have also included previous reviews for the 581 in here.

My experience: I’m a designer who mostly uses this for graphics/drafting. On the side, I like gaming. Fortunately, the boss (myself) does not seem to mind. I’ve only had it for two days, but I’ve already put it through its paces and formed some conclusions.

Professional – ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582 Laptop is unbeatable. Without a hitch, it runs large Autocad files, Adobe Suite, and 3D modeling applications. It’s barely been two days, yet I haven’t even scratched the surface of its hardware capabilities. My workflow has already benefited from the split screen. It’s big enough to be quite versatile, which is just what I need. I didn’t want to be compelled to use a smaller split screen as a toolbar when this may be utilized for a variety of useful uses. It will be a wonderful pleasure while traveling, and I am certain it will speed up my job.

Gaming – I’m currently playing Rocket League, Crusader Kings 3, and a few more games, and they all run as smoothly as butter. Max settings, maximum fps, yet you’re still not even close to the hardware’s potential. And the OLED screen… there are no words to describe it. This is my first, and I am really blown away. Yes, it does make a significant impact.

Other unrelated ideas –

I was concerned about the keyboard location, which had to be lowered to suit the split screen. It took some getting used to, but I’m now almost as quick typing on it as I am on a standard keyboard. I haven’t even installed the wrist rest extension, which I’m sure will make it much simpler. Keys on ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582HS-XH99T have a fantastic feel to them and are just loud enough to be noticed, but not loud enough to disturb someone in a quiet workplace or library. I like full-size arrow keys, which were sacrificed here to the dual-screen gods, but these are quite functional.

The trackpad on ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582 Laptop is slightly smaller, but it performs well. You can swiftly scroll from one end of the screen to the other, and I always like being able to really click the trackpad rather than merely touch to click. The number pad is little, but it works perfectly as long as you’re not doing big accounting or anything, and it looks nice.

Overall appearance – you may evaluate for yourself, but I believe it’s nice. Of course, it’s not in the flashy gaming style. It’s plainly blue, but it’s a wonderful dark, quiet blue. The finish on all aspects is excellent, with obvious attention to detail. The raise on the second screen (which was not included in the previous edition) is quite handy and feels robust.

Battery – not the best ever, but enough for my needs. Running a variety of programs in regular battery mode yielded a little more than 2 hours of runtime. Strategic power consumption would, of course, lengthen that duration, but heavy use would likely reduce it to less than two hours.

Sound quality on ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX582 Laptop is decent, however it is a little quiet. You won’t be utilizing this for party music on its own. But for a laptop, I’d rather have quality above volume.

Camera – I’m always zooming in and out, and this webcam works excellent for that. Face recognition on Windows Hello login is really fast on this machine for reasons I don’t understand. Very great.

Performance – I’ve stated it before, but the combination of 32GB + RTX 3070 is excellent. Under load, it does pump a reasonable amount of heat out the sides, which is to be expected. So far, I haven’t noticed the keyboard becoming hot, and the fans are rather quiet.

In conclusion, I am quite pleased. I’ve had three Razer Pros before this, and they were all great, but this truly elevates the laptop concept to new heights. I’m looking forward to putting it to good use. Excellent job, Asus!!
