My Honest XGIMI Horizon Pro Projector Review
After comparing it to other DLP projectors, I decided to give this one a go because of its low price, amazing features, and elegant style. And, to be honest, I couldn’t be pleased with my decision. It has an incredible visual quality on a 120″ screen. The sound is great, and the 2200 ANSI Lumens make it bright enough to use in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The most amazing feature, however, is its built-in automatic screen adaption technology, which elevates movies and games to new heights.
10/10 for user-friendliness.
The integrated AI-powered image-sensing algorithm and built-in automatic keystone correction enable it to intelligently recognize and avoid obstructions in the projection area, as well as automatically identify the screen and adapt the picture. I put it on my left nightstand for side projection, and it somehow avoided both the door and the plug in the projection area. It’s a comfort not to have to modify the projector’s position all the time to achieve the ideal image. It’s also TUV-certified, which means it provides improved eye protection and reduces blue light exposure. I can now watch for longer lengths of time without becoming tired of my eyes.
9/10 for image and brightness.
XGIMI Horizon Pro projector has an impressive 4K (3840×2160) resolution and 8.3 million pixels. I projected on a 120″ screen and it still delivered excellent clarity and detail. My televisions are a 43″ Samsung 4K UHD TV and a 75″ Sony 4K XBR Smart TV. The visual quality is superior to that of the 43-inch Samsung TV. The image is amazing in full darkness and is quite equivalent to my 75″ Sony 4K XBR Smart TV. The picture is viewable in brighter, daylight conditions, but not quite as excellent as it is in the dark. As a result, I often shut the blinds during the day and watch movies at night. Although 2200 ANSI lumens is much superior to most projectors, TVs are tough to replace in terms of brightness.
8/10 for gaming.
I’m a big gamer, and I’ve tested the projector with my Alienware PC and PlayStation 4. When compared to DLP projectors, this projector has notable advantages in terms of input lag and latency, which is ideal for high-action games such as Street Fighter V and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. It can’t compete with a standard gaming display, but it’s the best low-cost option for those searching for something new.
8/10 for audio quality.
The inbuilt Harman Kardon speakers provide excellent sound. The XGIMI Horizon Pro projector also supports DTS Studio and Dolby Audio files, which improves the sound quality even further. However, since I prefer a surround sound system (Dolby Atmos sound), I link the optical out to a soundbar. External speakers may also be connected through HDMI (ARC enabled), AUX, or Bluetooth.
In conclusion,
I watched several internet video evaluations and searched Google incessantly. When I noticed that TechRadar had named the XGIMI Horizon Pro as the finest 4K projector, I decided to give it a go, and I’m glad I did. I wholeheartedly suggest it to anybody who is undecided about which 4K projector to purchase.
