My Honest Verizon fios router g3100 Review
This is a genuine Verizon fios g3100. The package does not have the Verizon Fios white box sleeve that contains the instructions. It’s in the Verizon box, which is brown. A Verizon service representative informed me that this router would not function correctly since I purchased it on Amazon. I raised inquiries on Amazon, and both the seller and the consumers provided excellent responses and answers. As soon as you connect the router, it will reboot a number of times, probably due to firmware changes, which the Verizon representative assured me I would not be able to update. I have several ancient set-top boxes that operated well when I reset them.
Before you return your old router, contact Verizon to ensure that it is recognized on your account before they erase the rental price. Before the business would accept your return, you will need to provide an order number.
I also exchanged my old Fios TV One set-top boxes with the newer Fios TV One units. The verizon fios g3100 router is compatible with the new Fios TV One boxes!!! Unfortunately, any leased equipment has a one-time $50 equipment upgrade cost.
Except for the power adaptor, everything about this router is excellent. My router is located around 4 feet above the top of my desk. The power adapter cable is around 3 feet long and does not reach my surge protector. I have a Gigabit connection and can obtain rates of up to 900Mbps down and up. The ancient Fips G1100 had a transfer rate of roughly 800Mbps. Because the fios router g3100 sits in the basement, I converted my D-Link DIR882 into an access point.
