My Honest Spigen Tough Armor Review
I purchased this case since it was much less expensive than the Otterbox I had previously used for my previous phone. The Otterbox includes a built-in screen protector that became scuffed up over time and sometimes got water and dirt inside, as well as a cover over the thumb region that got filthy and prevented me from using the thumbprint on my iPhone 9, so when I received the 11, I looked on Amazon and discovered this one. It didn’t come with a screen protector, so I purchased a $1 glass screen protector from the shop (I live in Japan and we have these 100 yen stores, not sure if they have the exact equivalent anywhere else…). It seemed to be OK, and I was satisfied with it in the course of usual drips and such. Then I realized how wonderful Spigen Tough Armor case is.
My wife and I were travelling home one day when we realized we needed to change drivers. I was sitting in the passenger seat, my cellphone on my lap. We traded places, and I drove home, which was just about 20 minutes away. As we got closer to our home, I realized I couldn’t find my phone. We searched around on the floor but couldn’t find it. My wife utilized the “find my iPhone” function on her phone (she loves to keep track of me…) and discovered that my phone was still in the area where we had exchanged places.
I dropped her off and dashed back 20 minutes to the location where it had been dumped. “Perhaps someone noticed it and moved it off the roadway,” I prayed. I was expecting to have to pay $1000 to replace this brand-new phone. I raced across the street to locate it after arriving in the general vicinity and parking the vehicle. When I saw it sprawled in the middle of the road, my heart sank. I could see tread tracks over the back. It had evidently been ran over many times over the course of over an hour. I took it up and turned it over, terrified of what I could see…
The glass screen protector was cracked, yet the phone still functioned! When I brought it home, I took the screen protector off, thinking there was more damage, and it was clean. My phone suffered no harm. I got another $1 screen protector, and you’d never know anything had occurred.
Bottom line: Spigen Tough Armor case is cheap and it works. I wholeheartedly endorse it.
