A new printer was required. My previous HP printer was using ink too rapidly and not printing as well. I’ve always had HP inkjet printers and planned to acquire another. However, I saw a Consumer Reports article that assisted me in determining which sort of printer would best meet my requirements. Given that I didn’t want picture quality or color printing, I decided that a laser printer would be preferable for me. Consumer Reports suggested this one. I purchased it. It was not difficult to set up, yet I am a 64-year-old inexperienced computer user. It took a bit longer for me to figure out how to produce a two-sided printing from two single-sided pages, but I did it.

Brother MFC-L2690DW printer is fantastic. Looks extremely sturdy and long-lasting. It is simple to use, whether printing from my laptop or producing copies. I like how easy it is to print double-sided from my laptop. Excellent print quality. I’m not sure how long my ink drum will last, but it has to be less expensive than inkjet cartridges. I haven’t used the scan feature yet, so I can’t rate it.
